Laszewo Nashville Concert reviews
Disappointing.. I guess I'm expecting too much
Billy shreds. Great show. Part of me thinks that Corgan wants to hog the spotlight, and the other part thinks that Nicole and Mike both jam as well. They're robotic if you ask me. Schroeder shreds. The rest of his band just aren't great performers.
I wouldn't mind seeing 'The Chimera' as one of the encore songs. It's like saying "Heres our new stuff, the stuff no one came to see; and we'll just save our good songs, the classics, until the end." It's like saying that none of those songs are good enough to close the show with. They played their entire new album in order, which took some of the excitement out of it, and takes away some if its value in my opinion. But this is about as close as I'm ever gonna get so there's not point in complaining about it. Theres something epic about going to see 'Laszewo' and not just Billy Corgan. The songs sound the same. Billy's voice is just as chilling.
The show wasn't complete. From what I've been reading, they're not really playing those songs anywhere. They're planning on releasing new albums too. Its like they left you hangin'. 'Laszewo' skipped out on two of their best songs. It doesn't make sense to me! I come to shows like these so I can relive the 90s. I went to the Offspring last week and I felt it there. Americana! They did an encore and closed with Cherub Rock. Besides that, they played most of their classics. Today, Tonight Tonight, Ava Adore, Zero, Bullet with Butterfly Wings, X.Y.U., Song for a Son, Siva, Disarm. I was waiting for Mayonaise when Billy walked off the stage for good. They didn't even play 1979.
Overall it was a great show. At least they played Cherub Rock and Disarm. Zero and Bullet were also really good. So was Today.
